Research Group Attends the 13th Member Congress and 2026 Annual Academic Conference of the Chinese Society of Plant Pathology

The 13th Member Congress and 2026 Annual Academic Conference of the Chinese Society of Plant Pathology (CSPP) was held grandly in Wuhan, Hubei Province, from August 18 to 22, 2026. The conference was jointly hosted by Huazhong Agricultural University and other institutions. As the largest academic event in the field of plant pathology in China, it brought together more than 1,600 participating faculty and students and over 2,000 experts and scholars from across the country. Centered on the theme of "Innovation in Plant Pathology Science and Technology and Green Prevention and Control," the conference featured a variety of programs, including keynote lectures, parallel session presentations, graduate student sessions, and poster exchanges. Academicians He Zuhua, Chen Jianping, and Song Bao'an, along with Chief Agronomist Zheng Ge from the Science and Technology Development Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, delivered keynote lectures on topics such as rice immune resistance mechanisms, the construction of agricultural ecosystems under the "One Health" concept, plant virus disease prevention and control and the development of novel pesticides, and national agricultural science and technology policies and key research directions in plant protection.

Professor Hu Xiaoping and Associate Professor Li Yuxiang from the research group attended the conference. During the conference, Associate Professor Li Yuxiang delivered an academic presentation on behalf of the team in a parallel session, entitled "Research on Wheat Stripe Rust Monitoring and Early Warning Based on Artificial Intelligence and Big Data." The presentation systematically introduced the important progress the team has made in recent years in wheat stripe rust monitoring and early warning, with a focus on how artificial intelligence algorithms and multi-source big data fusion technologies are used to build early monitoring and warning models for wheat stripe rust, thereby improving the accuracy and timeliness of disease forecasting. The presentation attracted widespread attention from attending experts, and the on-site discussion was lively.

This participation not only showcased the research group's latest research achievements in the field of smart monitoring of wheat stripe rust, but also further strengthened academic exchange and cooperation with domestic peers. In the future, the research group will continue to deepen interdisciplinary research integrating artificial intelligence and plant pathology, closely aligning with the disciplinary development direction of "Innovation in Plant Pathology Science and Technology and Green Prevention and Control," and provide stronger scientific and technological support for the green prevention and control of wheat stripe rust and food security in China.
