To furtherly deepen cooperation and achieve two-way talent mobility, on December 28th, 2024, Deputy Director Zhang Jie and his delegation from the Institute of Plant Protection, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS), visited our college for exchanges. Secretary of the Party Committee of our college, Huang Mingxue, Dean, Guo Jun, Vice Dean, Zhao Lei, and other representatives attended the symposium, which was hosted by Deputy Party Secretary of the college, Gao Yuan. During the visiting, a recruitment and talent attraction event was also held, attracting over 70 students from various levels, including undergraduates, master's, and doctoral candidates, to actively participate, with lively atmosphere and rich interaction.
At the beginning of the symposium, Dean Guo Jun extended a sincere welcome to Deputy Director Zhang Jie and his delegation on behalf of the college and introduced in detail the college's situation in talent cultivation system construction, discipline characteristics and advantages, faculty structure, scientific research platform establishment, international exchange and cooperation expansion, and social service effectiveness. Special emphasis was placed on preliminary discussions and exchanges on jointly launching the 1 Department - 6 Colleges cooperation mode, expressing the earnest expectation to comprehensively deepen cooperation in key areas such as joint scientific research projects, all-round talent cultivation, and the expansion of employment channels for graduates. Deputy Director Zhang Jie introduced the basic structure and development status of the Institute of Plant Protection, CAAS, and clarified the purpose of this visit, hoping to attract outstanding undergraduates, master's, and doctoral candidates from NWAFU to join the institute, further consolidate the foundation for cooperation between the two parties, jointly promote innovative development and technological progress in the field of plant protection in China, and jointly shoulder the heavy responsibility of development of plant protection field.

During the recruitment and talent attraction event, all participants watched the promotional video Mission, shared by Institute of Plant Protection, CAAS. Deputy Director Zhang Jie provided detailed introductions on the institute's development orientation, scientific research practice platforms, and faculty. He also conducted in-depth interpretations regarding recruitment majors, application conditions, selection processes, training programs, scholarship and bursary systems, as well as benefits. Representatives of our university's outstanding alumni, including Researcher Gao Li, Associate Researcher Wang Guangjun, and Associate Researcher Zhang Tiantao, shared their growth journeys and research experiences after joining the institute from their alma mater during the interactive session, encouraging students to actively engage in plant protection research, seize opportunities, and realize their life values and scientific research ambitions on a higher platform, which resonated strongly with the participating students and sparked heated discussions. After the meeting, the participating students engaged in in-depth discussions with the presentation team on topics such as the progress of scientific research projects, mentor selection, employment prospects, and career development planning.
