Experts from Hazara University in Pakistan Visited NWAFU

On October 18th to 23rd, 2023, Prof. Nawaz Mohsan, Vice President of Hazara University in Pakistan, and Associate Prof. Ali Sajid visited our University on the invitation from Prof. Kang Zhensheng.

During the visit, Prof. Luo Jun, Vice President, had a comprehensive talking with Prof. Nawaz Mohsan. Both parties introduced the history and current situation of two universities, respectively, and had in-depth discussions on student exchange, talent exchanges, scientific research cooperation and other aspects. Prof. Nawaz Mohsan expressed his great expectation to cooperate with our university. Qiao Zhe, Deputy Director of International Cooperation and Exchange Office, Guo Jun, Vice Dean of College of Plant Protection, and Prof. Zhao Jie, Director of Plant Pathology Department of College of Plant Protection, attended the meeting.

Afterwards, Prof. Nawaz Mohsan and Associate Prof. Ali Sajid held a discussion with Prof. Kang Zhensheng. The two sides had full communication on application of scientific research projects in wheat stripe rust, international joint conferences, and other cooperation issues.

Associate Prof. Ali Sajid has long been engaged in research on wheat stripe rust, and made an academic report on "Population genetic tools for deciphering diversity in crops, their wild relatives and their pathogens to enable sustainable crop production" for teachers and students from our college. During the report, he actively interacted and communicated with the people who attended the meeting, and discussed relevant scientific research progress with young faculties.

Prof. Nawaz Mohsan and Associate Prof. Ali Sajid visited Southeast Kiln Rust Disease Experimental Station and National Key Laboratory for Crop Stress Tolerance and Efficient Production, and were impressed by our university's research conditions.

This visit will further promote the cooperation between NWAFU and Pakistan's science and education units such as Hazara University in talent exchange, scientific research, international joint conferences and other aspects, laying a good foundation for responding to the national "the Belt and Road Initiatives" policy, promoting the agricultural development of countries along " the Belt and Road Initiatives ", and agricultural cooperation between the two sides.
