Recently, Prof. Mike Keller from University of Adelaide in Australia visited our college for academic exchange and communication. Prof. Keller delivered an academic report titled "Reflections on benefit-risk analysis for biological control introductions" to our faculty and students. The meeting was hosted by Vice Dean Jing Xiangfeng, and more than 50 faculty members and students attended.
Prof. Keller introduced the application of traditional biological control in Australia using natural enemies, and systematically introduced the current systems and methods for assessing the risks and benefits of artificially introducing alien natural enemies. Based on his own experience, Prof. Keller engaged in in-depth exchanges and discussions with the faculty and students on the effects and risk analysis of introducing natural enemies.
