  Research interests

  1. Insect pathogens and related microorganisms: The functional genomics of the Baculoviruses, such as HearNPV CypoGV and OrerNPV. Based on the results of functional genomics on NPVs, we produce the genetic modified nucleopolyhedrovirus to improve biocontrol for insect pests. Another important point is the interaction between baculoviruse and its insect host, especially for the larvae behavior regulation induced by viral infection. Besides this, our lab team also focused on other pathogens against insects, including Beauveria, Codyceps and Bacillus for biocontrol and diversity.

  2. Pharmacological analyses and utilization of bioactive compounds from traditional Chinese herbal insects. The natural compounds from herbal insects have a prospective potential on cancer treatment and health improvement drug development based on our previous study. We are focusing on the molecular and cellular pharmacology of these compounds and isolation of new compounds from insect herbals.
